We at Prestige Builders have had a very good summer, all things considered. We have kept busy doing small jobs—additions, garages, carports, decks, remodels, etc—and we are still here! The “recession – depression” hurt a lot of folks around here and a lot of them are now out of business. Foreclosures took a tremendous toll on almost all of the “Spec Home” builders and a majority of all of the developers of the subdivisions and the gated communities have had their properties foreclosed or have walked away from them. We were very fortunate that we never got involved with spec houses or developments and that decision has allowed us to remain intact and still in business.
We are currently in negotiations on a new home for a Florida couple and are in the design phase with another family for a vacation home in the Blairsville area.
We are finishing up on the new entrance to Owen Glen the new Golf Community that surrounds Old Union Golf Course. The new entrance is off of Hwy 129 if you have been by lately I am sure you must have seen all of the construction. We will post pictures on our website when we have it completed.
